SPORTS LAW

Dating back to his playing days at Georgia Tech and, before that, as an athletic standout in his hometown of Macon, Georgia, Pete Wellborn has loved sports.  This passion manifests itself in his sports law practice, which couples his knowledge of the underlying sports with the creativity and perspective borne from his decades of broad legal practice.  Wellborn's Clients include Coach Bill Curry (two-time Super Bowl Champion and the former head football coach at Georgia Tech, Alabama, Kentucky, and Georgia State) and EXOS (formerly known as Athletes Performance Institute), which was founded by human performance icon Mark Verstegen and is widely recognized as the top training facility in the world for elite athletes.  Wellborn's sports law experience also includes the representation of professional boxers, Olympic track-and-field athletes, NFL players, NBA players, WNBA players, NCAA basketball coaches (men's and women's), and NCAA football coaches.  Wellborn was also a co-author of Coach Curry's football coaching manual, "Sanity, Survival, and Winning."
